Kraken Mare is the largest hydrocarbon lake on Titan, one of the most important natural satellites of Saturn. Its size can be compared to that of the Caspian Sea.

It was discovered in 2006 by the Cassini-Huygens satellite by observing some dark spaces that had low radar reflectivity. Ever since its discovery, it has represented a very important point of interest for astrologers from all over the world due to the potential it offers for exploration missions. More than that, scientists consider this sea of hydrocarbons the optimal place for studies both on Titan's history and on the moon's atmosphere.
The uniqueness of this place is also given by the fact that the Great Kraken is the largest liquid body found outside the planet Earth. This project aims to use this lake of methane for various purposes, including creating energy through various chemical processes that will be emphasized in blog 4.
